What kind of cups are used in cupping therapy?

Our cupping therapy uses silicone cups because they are flexible and cover a larger surface area over other types of cups. All cups utilize gravity to create space in between the tissue in order to optimize the flow of both blood and lymph. Other types include glass and bamboo cups, each type of cup has its own benefits and can create different sensations during the treatment. While Massage Therapists are trained in the cupping modality, they are not permitted to use the heat and flame required for glass cups.
